The President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, has announced elections for the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, April 9, under Section 57-1 of the Election Act, 2017.

According to the statement issued by the President’s House on Monday, the President has said that the Election Commission should issue the election program under Section 57-2 of the Act. The letter directs the Election Commission to issue the election program under Section 57-2 of the Election Act and since there is no injunction from any judicial forum, there is no bar to exercise the President’s powers under Section 57-1. no.
