The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted varying intensities of rainfall, snowfall, and isolated hailstorms in upper and central parts of Pakistan from February 17 to 21. A strong westerly wave is expected to affect these regions, starting from the night of February 17.

Gilgit Baltistan/Kashmir: Moderate to heavy rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills are expected in various areas including Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from February 17 to 21, with occasional gaps. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during this period.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Similar conditions are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from February 17 to 20, with occasional gaps. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during this period.

Punjab/Islamabad: Moderate to heavy rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills are expected in areas like Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, and others from February 17 to 21. Light to moderate rain is likely in other parts of Punjab on February 18-19. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during this period.

Balochistan: Rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over the hills are expected in various areas including Quetta and Ziarat on February 18-19.

Sindh: Dry weather with strong gusty winds is expected in southern parts of the province from February 18-20.

Possible impacts include traffic disruptions, road closures, landslides, and potential damage to structures like electric poles and solar panels. Farmers and tourists are advised to remain cautious during this weather spell.
