The Lahore Education Authority has recently announced new school timings for educational institutions across Lahore, in response to the colder weather conditions. This revised schedule is set to be in effect until January 22.
As per the official notification, schools in Lahore will now start at 9:30 am and conclude at 2:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, and on Saturday. On Fridays, the schools will have an early dismissal at 12:30 PM to accommodate weekly congregational prayers.
The adjustment applies uniformly to both girls’ and boys’ schools operating in a single shift. For schools with double shifts, the first session will commence at 9:30 AM and end at 1:30 PM. The second shift will begin at 1:45 pm and conclude at 5:30 pm, ensuring adequate educational hours for all students.
This decision follows the announcement by Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, that winter holidays would not be extended further, and schools will reopen on January 10. The chief minister emphasized the importance of maintaining academic continuity while also considering the comfort and well-being of the students during the colder months.
