Online Driving Test Service Launched in Lahore

As part of the ongoing Online Driving License initiative, the e-Khidmat Markaz at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) has rolled out the Driving Test Service. This collaborative effort between the Punjab Traffic Police and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) aims to streamline the driving license issuance process throughout the province.

The Driving Test Service, introduced at the e-Khidmat Centre ASTP, marks the initial phase of a broader plan to extend this service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz in Punjab. A meeting was held as part of the pilot project to seamlessly integrate Driving Test Services into the existing e-Khidmat framework.

In a move to enhance convenience, the caretaker government had previously introduced various online facilities to simplify the process of obtaining a driving license. Recently, the traffic police announced the online renewal of learner’s permits, allowing citizens to conveniently complete the process from the comfort of their homes.

The Lahore Traffic Police emphasized that the introduction of online facilities is expected to reduce congestion at Facilitation Centers by a significant 90%. Moreover, in response to the growing demand for driving licenses, the provincial authorities implemented revised fee structures earlier this month. As per the Lahore Traffic Police, citizens can now acquire their car and motorcycle learner’s permit for Rs. 500, valid for a period of up to five years.
