The Government of Pakistan is thinking to reduce working days to save fuel usage and cost due to high rates of fuel internationally and the dollar rate peak in Pakistan. The estimates are based on three different scenarios in terms of working days and fuel conservation prepared by the State Bank of Pakistan for foreign exchange savings of $1.5 billion to $2.7 billion, the Dawn newspaper reported.

Pakistan’s total oil imports in the first 10 months (July-April) of the current fiscal year (FY22) have increased to over $ 17 billion, showing a massive growth of 96 percent compared to the same period last fiscal year, according to the report.

In the 1st plan 4 Working days and 3 holidays in a week are proposed. In the second plan 4 working days, 2 Holidays, and 1 lockdown day are proposed. In the 3rd scenario 4 working days, 1 holiday, and 2 lockdown days are proposed.

There is no official notification of 4 working days in a week or notification of 3 holidays in a week but this is only thinking of Govt members.
