IMPLEMENTATION OF GUIDELINES IN PERIODICAL REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS 2021-2022

A notification has been issued on 24 December 2021 in connection with implementation of Guidelines in Periodical Revision of Electoral Rolls 2021-22 by Election Commission of Pakistan.Further detail of said notification in same is as under;

IMPLEMENTATION OF GUIDELINES IN PERIODICAL REVISION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS 2021-2022

I am directed to state that it has been reported from various districts across the country that some of the provisions of Guidelines of the Hon’ble Commission issued for Periodical Revision of Electoral Rolls 2021-2022 are not being implemented in their entirety. In one such reported instance, hundreds of voters were unverified during door to door verification merely on account of physical absence of voters at their permanent or temporary addresses despite clear guidelines to verify all those voters whose names are enrolled at their permanent or temporary addresses falling in that particular CBC irrespective of the fact whether they are physically available or otherwise.

It is therefore requested to kindly direct all concerned that, during extended period of door-to-door verification, they may ensure implementation of provision appearing at para 6(a)&(b) of Chapter-2 of ECP Guidelines Booklet issued for door-to-door verification which requires that the voters, whose address (temporary or permanent) appearing on the Draft Electoral Rolls belongs to a CBC but they are not found present during door-to-door verification at their said address of such CBC, shall be marked as ‘verified’ in the relevant DER of that CBC and in Remarks column, Verifying Official shall record the fact that “voter is not present however, his vote is at his permanent, or, as the case may be, temporary address”.

Matter may kindly be treated as most urgent.
